The YMA scholars are between 14 years old to 20 years old. Currently, they must complete an internship program in a civil society organization or local government unit, where they will work on a program/project related to poverty alleviation and/or social welfare promotion. Part of the requirement of the said internship is to do social marketing for their assigned program/project, gathering support in the form of Facebook “likes”, funds, and signatures of commitment.
In the hope of empowering them, I shared basic strategies and tips on how they can use social media in promoting and getting support for their assigned program/project.
THE ORGANIZER
The Young Minds Academy (YMA) of RAFI gathers and nurtures future leaders and influencers among us. Its main goal is to develop a community of leaders that is ready to effect change. YMA, the youth citizenship and leadership development program of the Eduardo Aboitiz Development Studies Center, is carried out to develop young emerging leaders aged 12 to 20 years old to become responsible citizens and accountable, proactive leaders ready to serve the public and its interests.
