I kept on blurting the word “World-class” over and over in one night. That was last night. I was trying to dissect how I always ended up making those remarks. And the remark was indeed deserving. Imagine an event held in Radisson Blu, with world-class performers from Russia, Ukraine, United States, Philippines and Belarus (courtesy of Resorts World), and a property that is the new centerpiece in the Philippines’s Tourism Capital City — One Pacific Residence.
Megaworld Corporation
Who wouldn’t recognize Megaworld? For those left out, it is the largest developer and landlord of residential condominiums and business process outsourcing offices. Its track record is unprecedented and currently, they have completed more than 250 properties composed of residential buildings, commercial centers, office towers and world-class hotels. It is the “lifestyle township” that earned them a huge return upon recognizing this.
Its township projects is also the most visited and preferred address in Metro Manila as it had infused wholesome lifestyle more accessible to the suburban Filipino professional. It is also undeniable that it has served as the major employment hub to more than 165,000 Filipinos.
Social Proof of “World Class Excellence” in Real Estate
Megaworld has received numerous awards from prestigious organizations over the last 10 years:
- Best Innovator Relations Company given by Corporate Governance Asia of Asia Excellence Awards.
- Best Managed Asian Company of 2012 by FinanceAsia.
- “Most Organized Investor Relations” and “Strongest Adherence to Corporate Governance” from Alpha Southeast Asia
And the list of recognition goes on and on.
Mactan Newtown and One Pacific Residence
One Pacific Residence, located right at the heart of Megaworld Corportion’s first township in Central Visayas, will not only feature luxurious amenities for residence but will also be easily accessible to all the conveniences that Cebuano urbanities will ever need – high – end malls, hotels, beautiful beaches and other entertainment centers. These hip and trendy folk of the Queen City of the South will never want to leave the township.
“We are bringing luxury and lifestyle convenience to new heights. One Pacific Residence will showcase the best “Newtown” living” says Noli D. Hernandez, senior vice president for sales and marketing, Megaworld Corporation.
There are studio, one bed-bedroom and two-bedroom units to choose from – all fully-furnished. Amenities include built-in closets, a kitchen cabinet and a stainless steel sink. The bedrooms and lavatories feature marble and ceramic finishes.
The units boast of exhaust duct systems, a multi-point water heater, an individual mail box and a split-type air conditioning as well for added convenience. Residents can choose to have units with hot-and-cold shower, cable TV and telephone connection already installed. Each unit is equipped with floor-to-ceiling windows and balconies, allowing residents full picturesque views of the Magellan Bay to its north and the Hilutungan Channel to the south.
One Pacific Residence’s varied amenities are sure to entertain every discriminating taste. The whole family can enjoy leisure activities like wall climbing, swimming, playing tennis, to name a few. There is a playground for the kids. Adults will also love the indoor facilities like the Jacuzzi, gym, restaurant, and the function room.
Exclusively is highlighted in this community as it is comprised of only four towers and 540 units. Utmost security is assured by a 24-hour security service, automatic heat detection, fire sprinklers and the annunciator panels at the parking floors – all designed for the safety of the residents.
The Mactan Newtown, which houses the One Pacific Residence, is an addition to Megaworld’s growing line-up of ‘Mega’- communities. It was recently declared by President Benigno Aquino III as a “special economic zone” or ECOZONE, giving certain privileges to business and investors operating and residing within the development.
Megaworld replicates the same formula that propelled Eastwood City to success – ‘live, work, play’ – right at the shores of Mactan Island. The Mactan Newtown is expected to be as successful in intermingling residential and commercial spaces into one vibrant, premiere community.
Aside from One Pacific Residence, this 16-hectare development will also be home to other luxury condominiums such as 8 Newtown Boulevard, clusters of world-class BPO offices, a boutique hotel, retail shops, cafes and restaurants.

What it takes to be “World Class”
The unmatched growth of Megaworld as a township developer has earned them the reputation as one of the world’s best. And we can learn from their experiences to advance our growth in our chosen career and fields.
1. Choose a Niche. It is the thing of the future. Personalization, customization and focused-targeting is the thing that earns most of the bucks. For Megaworld Projects, like Mactan Newtown, their niche is not only to provide decent properties to Filipinos, but to provide them the lifestyle they deserve. To those who were there in the launch, definitely you have a taste of what Mactan Newtown can offer. A light chat with Harold Geronimo, “We will be bringing more of Resort’s Worlds performance in Mactan NewTown.” To choose one, you should address what your target customer needs. For Megaworld, it was clearly defined. And it earned them a spotlight against the roaring competition.
2. Build a Portfolio of Social Proof. As defined by Wikipedia:
“Social proof, also known as informational social influence, is a psychological phenomenon where people assume the actions of others reflect correct behavior for a given situation. This effect is prominent in ambiguous social situations where people are unable to determine the appropriate mode of behavior, and is driven by the assumption that surrounding people possess more knowledge about the situation.”
It takes experts to recognize one companies worth in terms of financial and assets standings. Testimonials from satisfied residents and locators is another things. Depending on who you want to relate to, the emotional factor is a prime motivator for action. Mactan Newtown is the perfect home to the new breed of technopreneurs, and young professionals. But, without its more than 250 properties developed, and international recognition, every rational thinker would think that THIS IS THE ADDRESS TO BE.
3. Make your message clear, focused and defined. Mactan Newtown is Megaworld’s biggest investment outside the national capital with an estimated budget of Php 16 billion for its completion. Stating the facts, the obvious and the trailblazing performance of its preceding properties, it is indirectly making a statement that a One Place Residence property’s worth can grow twice its original value in no time. Any entreprenuer would know, this is a prime investment that you should not miss.
4. Spell your message through action. I didn’t wonder why people were so overwhelmed and amazed not only with the new launched property. One of the investors I overheard last night, “Man, we shouldn’t let this opportunity pass by.” Anyone in the Nina Room of Radisson Blu appreciated in a short time what living in Mactan Newtown’s One Pacific Place would be.
The tips and lessons can go on. One thing’s for sure, Mactan Newtown’s One Pacific Residence launch was an informal learning session for any student of marketing.
